Hi! I have a question about the small claims court process. I am considering filing a case in small claims court but I am not sure how long the process might take, especially if the case is not too complex. How long does it usually take to process a case in small claims court from the time the case is filed to the decision?

I have been through the small claims court process myself, and I want to share my personal experience - perhaps it will help you get your bearings. I filed a claim for a relatively simple case, and, frankly, I expected it to drag on. But I was pleasantly surprised: after filing my application, I was given a hearing date in about 4 weeks. The hearing itself lasted no more than an hour, everything was calm, without unnecessary red tape. The judge quickly got to the heart of the matter, gave both parties a chance to speak, and a couple of days after the hearing I received the decision by mail. In total, it took about five weeks from filing to the final verdict. Of course, the time frame may vary depending on the court's workload and the complexity of the specific case, but if the situation is standard, like mine, everything happens quite quickly. The main thing is to properly prepare the documents and clearly state your position
